An unforgettable trip of seeing the mekong delta is to take a boat trip along Mekong river, you will pass paddy fields, water buffaloes, tangled fruit orchards, and excited, waving children. In the delta’s town, the river remains the central focus of life, ferrying travellers and goods to market and linking the delta with the world beyond. To explore the the life of local people in Mekong Delta you take a few days homestay in Cai Be, the floating market in Can Tho, and the hillside pagodas of Chau Doc. The itinerary provides a unique glimpse into the daily life of the deeper Mekong Delta.
Day 1: Saigon – Mytho (By speed boat) – Caibe (By Cruise) – Home stay in Caibe (Lunch, Dinner) 0745-0800: Pick up at hotel in Saigon (please provide address), then by bus trip to Bach Dang pier (5-10minutes). Speed boat leaves Saigon to Mytho (2hrs cruise). Arrive to My Tho, one of quiet cities in Mekong Delta area, then transfer to the luxury Mekong boat to have a look total of Dragon – Unicorn – Turtle - Phoenix Islands. Then make a stop to visit Phoenix Island where we have the opportunity to know Coconut Religion and see how to make coconut & handicrafts. At Turtle Island, we will see the process of making coconut candy and enjoy it. After then, we will enjoy the peaceful landscape on the horse carriage, drink honey tea, join in the rowing boat under the water coconut palm in the small canals. Lunch will be await at local restaurant in island with special dishes called as “Fried Elephant Ear Fish” and a lot of other dishes. After lunch, back to the boat and cruise toward to Caibe – Vinhlong in 3hours. Boat to enthusiactic homestay, check-in. Then balance of the day will be at leisure on your own or take a walk around the village yourselves for more discovery of the area before dinner. Or an optional one hour cycling tour around the village to explore local life there, you will have another opportunity to try snake wine and the others while enjoying seasonal fruit. After then, back to your home stay. The family will be your host for this evening and tell you more about the typical life in the Mekong region. Another option is to go down the kitchen for part of the cooking class if you wish. Then enjoy dinner. A traditional music show, called Tai Tu will be performed by the locals after dinner in a quiet Bonsai garden while hot green tea will be served by your hosts. Overnight at local house – BA KIET ancient house.
Day 2: Caibe – Floating market – Vinhlong – Sadec – Can Tho city (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) After breakfast, you start walking on a small trail along the river to see the daily life of the locals, and visit the village market which is just held early in the morning for the so busy farmers to buy things for the day. The market is also a place where you can interact with and take photo of the locals. Afterwards, you bid farewell to your hosts and take your morning boat trip to visit of Cai Be colourfull floating market. We will proceed by the visit of some local home factories such as rice paste making, rice pop corn, coco candies, longans drying processing. You will then return on board the boat to proceed to visit of the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. After then continue boat trip to Sadec in 2 hours. Sa Dec town will appear like a little “Venice” with numerous narrow canals. Visit a famous house in L’amant film, ancient house and flower village. Enjoy lunch at ancient house in Sadec. After lunch, keep going to Cantho by boat (3hrs cruise) on small canal, on the way we can see a lot of activities of local people. Arrive to Cantho city around 5-6pm. Check-in the hotel in city. Free at leisure until enjoy dinner at charming restaurant. O/N at hotel in Cantho.
Day 3: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Chau Doc (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Breakfast at hotel. After thn check-out. Continue your boat ride on Mekong River which is the longest and most prosperous in Asia, visit the famous floating market Cai Rang, where you can see the daily life and local people selling their products on boats. Then cruising to small cannels to visit one of the local family and their orchard, you have chance to buy fruits in the market and tasting it. Finish trip then cruise to Chaudoc around 3 hours. Check-in the hotel on arrival. Free at leisure until enjoy dinner. O/N in Chaudoc.
Day 4: Chaudoc – Saigon (By vehicle) (Breakfast) Breakfast at hotel. Then make a city tour Chaudoc, with such proximity the local population is an eclectic mix of Cham, Khmer, Chinese and Vietnamese sharing different cultures and historical richness. After then visit: Tay An pagoda, Lady Chua Xu Temple, After then get on private vehicle for return to Saigon. Late afternoon arrive to Saigon. Drop off at your hotel in Saigon. End of trip.

Or we also can extent 2-3 days trip to PhuQuoc Island by taking daily high speed boat from Mekong Delta (join-in boat).
